Damn. The wind ahead of the second(maybe third) decent cell that hit the West Moines area around 4:30 yesterday basically blew apart my small mower shed. Hinged roof got thrown open pulling the door it was padlocked to off its hinges. Other got pushed in, popping it off its hinges. Spend the next 20 minutes in the pouring rain trying to get everything reattached well enough to stop everything inside from getting soaked.

Sump pump never ran though even though a lot of the rest of the neighborhood's pumps are running.

Now sitting at 5.57” for June, right on the normal monthly total. Pending what happens Sunday, it could be a rare month above the norm. The last time that happened the next 2-1/2 months were bone dry, Aug-Oct ‘24.

And, boom, the powers out even before the big stuff hit. Guess it's not just my hood.
We are in Bloomington tonight. I about had a heart attack with the alert that went of on our phone in the hotel.

No power. Got a text at 8 am that power will be back by 430 am the 29th. Guess they meant 430 pm or 430am the 30th since no juice here yet.

Edit: Looked at outage map and most of the stuff around me says Monday evening for power restoration. And there goes another freezer compartment of food into the trash. It's an annual thing now, like clockwork each summer.

Sounds like you need a generator for just that.
