Looks like Urbandale has also closed tomorrow, I'm wondering if that will be the first domino for the metro-area districts.
I see Johnston on the list now too - looks like they're falling.

Already planning on daycare closing tomorrow and having the 4 year old at home.

C'mon WDM, follow suit. My teen already missed today because of illness. A free missed day to finish kicking it would be nice.

KCCI has 11 schools already listed as closing either activities tonight or in the morning, and Ames has been moved into the 6 to 9 inch range of snow. Going to be using the snow blower in the morning. At least now its all on concrete and do not have to worry about throwing rocks like in the past.

my buddy and i were just talking about how it was VERY rare for school to be cancelled the night before back in the days of my high school years (07-10) and that wasn't even that long ago.
Schools are afraid of getting sued so they cancel classes a lot earlier and many of the rural districts have merged so the kids and teachers are traveling a lot further than what they did even 15 years ago. Its also gives the parents more time to line up child care for tomorrow if they know tonight.

Forecasting has also gotten much better along with much more terrifying.
