Im a runner and I would also like to try, but I worked with a guy who was really into cross country skiing and he said its not really worth it. There are a few groomed trails in central Iowa when we have the right conditions but that doesn’t happen often. He retired and permanently moved to to his cabin up in northern Wisconsin a few years back.
The few times I've gone sledding at Waveland Golf Course, it seems like that is a popular place to cross country ski

I've always heard that people are more likely to get sick when temperatures are yo-yoing, but I've wondered if it's really true.

I feel the temp changes in my jacked up sinuses, but that's likely due to the pressure changes that accompany it. Low humidity inside is the more likely culprit for getting sick. I just saw something recently that said flu viruses are 2-3x more likely to infect you at 20% humidity vs 40% humidity.

Is there a particular part of Waveland you can sled? Do you just pull into the parking lot & sled down #9?
The blue arrows are the most popular locations, likely due to the proximity to the parking lot. Yellow is my favorite because it's crazy steep. Red is fun if you can steer because it's probably the longest hill. If you can't steer you'll end up in a ditch due to the cross slope. You can go anywhere on the course you feel like, though.
