Talked to a farmer in Shelby County today, beans planted last week are still in dry dirt. South of Westphalia. This water thing is wild. Blessed we are not affected by the water shortage. .
I have a few beans in dry dirt when we planted. Most are fine. A rain or 2 would be good. Temps in the 80-85 degrees area and 30% humidity, dry soils quickly.

Seems like the last few summers I can start putting the mower away once we hit June...get it back out in September! This is an exaggeration but I rarely mow in the summers now...maybe this summer I will water my lawn some...

I don't know if that's an exaggeration. Growing up on the farm we would mow like crazy until around mid June pretty much every year........then just almost shut it down outside of a quick run to shave the weeds that seem to grow no matter what. Throw a lot of dust. And then about state fair time we were scared to walk on the dormant grass in bare feet because it felt like a hundred needles poking the feet.

It's more rare that one mows consistently through the summer months into fall. Unless of course one has an irrigation system and waters all summer long.

Okay, going to skip driving to the gym at 2:00.

Per the CF weather app warning (made me check the forecast and radar) it might be unpleasant and I don't want to get the old Audi hail dimpled.

Not much on the dar 20 minutes ago, now I see a pop-up line of thunderstuff heading this way.

Looks like the S to N semi-discrete arcing type of day. Remembering some decently big days in Nebraska like that. Seems like it really foments rotation in the lower levels with that kind of movement.
