***Official 2025 NCAA Tournament Thread***

Why did they put the site with the most likely blowouts in the solo timeslot today? There’s a good chance there isn’t watchable basketball until the 4:00 slot today. Then it’s going to be full on split screen worthy action. I’d have thought they’d do better in the ratings to spread out the good games.

Famous last words in March.

NIL is taking the Madness out of March.

It was weird. Pretty chalky first round, and NIL plays a part.

But Robert Morris, UNCW, Wofford, Yale, High Point all gave their higher seeds competitive games.

It felt like the usual mix of blowouts and competitive close games, but unfortunately those lower seeds just couldn’t get over the hump.

Tommy Lloyd is tied with Shaka Smart for the second winningest record after four seasons.

Overrated is always subjective but he’s been to 8 FF’s and has 700+ Ws, So “one run 25 years ago” isn’t really an accurate statement.
Izzo suffers from the same faults as Dean Smith did for years, great at getting to the tournament and making a run, just hard to get over the hump and win the whole thing.

It makes no sense how they are two standalone games at 11, and 1:30, then not another tip until 4:15. Then rolling through 6 games. Would wouldn’t they just start the first one at 1:30, a 2:10, 3, and then 4. Make it make sense

imo their overall talent level was always just like 3% less than Duke, UK, and KU during the prime Izzo years, minus the year they won which they had equal talent to the best with Cleaves and Peterson.

Each of the 1 seeds outside auburn play against teams that either won the natty or contended for a natty in recent years.

SEC with 14 teams in where over rated, not the at top but the depth of the conference, while the B10 might have been underrated at the top more. Not sure the B10 has a team that is good enough to win the title, but they do have a lot of very good, not great teams. The real depth of a conference is how many teams you get into the round of 16, if the B12 can get half the teams we have left, that is pretty good.
