Great job out of Brown yesterday.Made the middle middle mistake early but recovered to give us three solid to reset the bullpen for today. Now with the day off things are settling up nice for Frisco.

Yea if innings for guys like Horton, Imanaga and Boyd is an issue. Having a player like Brown who can pitch 2-4 inning each outing a couple times a week could be a big benefit.

It's also crazy how good our starters have been at pitching 5 or more innings over the last month. I'm sure there are games where the starter has gone 4 or less, but the only game that stands out to me was Horton's blister game.

In a wildcard series he absolutely has to start 1 of first 2 games. Shota probably other and Boyd the 3rd if it comes down to it
Agree, he's been a stud since July:

July: 1-1 in 4 starts 1.52 ERA 1.06 WHIP
August: 4-1 in 5 starts 0.72 ERA 0.76 WHIP

Nice to finally have a SP that was drafted and developed by the system because they have missed on so many guys over the years. He's definitely a top 3 arm in the rotation right now and should get the ball in the 2nd or 3 game of a playoff series if he stays healthy and keeps pitching as well as he has lately. Really curious how his numbers in rank across all starters since the all-star break as he has to be right up there in many of the analytics.

Open in cold Wrigley Field likely against MacKenzie Gore, host the Yankees & Dodgers in back-to-back series (early August) and finish the season in Boston.

That a way to leave Boyd in 1 inning to long.

How much is Craig getting paid to manage?
I would say he kept him in one batter to long. He was at 79 pitches after 5 innings, so sending him out in the 6th was the right move. But you probably should have pulled him after the 4 pitch walk to Flores.

I get much more upset when the starter gets taken out when he's pitching well.
