Can't let this one slip. Big few innings ahead!

I just can't stand the ******* Brewers. Was poking around some stats and, while they are very good, it's remarkable how "lucky" they are statistically as a team and thats probably why they are extra infuriating. They are getting some great fortune this season.

Offensively they make more soft contact than anyone, but have a top 8 BABIP. By far the most infield hits. 2nd highest groundball percentage (usually a bad indicator). So basically, they make as much bad contact on the ground as anyone, but get an inordinate amount of infield hits and very high BABIP for the type of balls they are putting in play.

On the pitching side, they have one of the lowest BABIP against in the league, actual ERA out performing FIP/xFIP more than anyone, all while having one of the highest walk rates. League high left on base %. They are a good pitching staff, but they are walking a lot of guys and benefiting by a super low BABIP, stranding a TON of baserunners and actual results outperforming predictive metrics at the highest rate around.

We can only hope they are due for some serious regression to the mean at some point here.

Well sure, they are good team and doing the little things well has been their calling card for years.

They still have been having a lot of things break their way this year.
I agree. The luck has been on Brewers’ side this year. We should be up 5 games if our players had done better job with runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs.
