Reality is any division leader would be 5 games behind the Brewers right now. This run they are on is historic.

It's not the Brewers that bothers me, it's the bad at bats from 80 perc of the lineup, and the continuous refusal or inability to move runners.

He is not injured. He is right around his career average. We just need to lower our expectation. What he has shown early this year is not the norm. He was hot and playing better than his career average

McGuire has been good. He's not better than Amaya who hit .280 before he went down. He's back now. I just don't think McGuire is really needed anymore IMO. They are worried if Kelly or Amaya get hurt. They want McGuire instead of Mo at Catcher. Fine whatever. It's a bad choice IMO. Prospect hug instead of adding to your team at the deadline. Then you turn around and just keep them at AAA when they could help your ball club in a Postseason race. Would you rather have Mo or McGuire off the bench to PH? I pick Mo over McGuire every day. I am so glad they are looking at the future of this ballclub instead of what is the best options in 2025 to make the postseason and get a home playoff series.

That’s not the point. If you have two catchers you really can’t afford to PH your backup. But you can OH Amaya in a big spot because McGuire is on the bench.

If you don’t sign Tucker you can get Schwarber, Trade Taillon, sign a high end right hander. We’d be money ahead and Caissie has a roster spot. Before you ask about getting ABs if it was up to me he’d play more than Happ. Plus even though Schwarber is a lefty he can be the platoon for Busch or just the emergency backup at first and DH almost everyday.

I don’t care if Tucker walks way. I would rather sign two good players than one borderline star player like Tucker.

They will also take the Left handed option that’s on the bench over McGuire. They kept McGuire because they didn’t want to lose him to waivers if they DFA’d him. They absolutely don’t want to put Mo back behind the plate if they lose Kelly/Amaya again.

Not sure where you came up with hitting Turner over Amaya. I can’t see a single stat that would justify that. Amaya’ BA is comparable to Turner’s OBP and MA slug is almost even with JTs OPS
