Castro being able to play multiple positions bodes well long term so slumping players can get a break.
 
10-9 with 4.3 Era. Not great but serviceable. I'm on fence. He's done better since he came back in late June but not significantly. Probably can't afford to wait but would like to see how soroka does and tallison/assad progress.
That was last year. I would pay more attention to his 6.23 ERA in 2025. His #'s just aren't good: low strikeouts, high HR rate and averaging 4.5 innings/start.

But even if you look at 2024 and his 4.3 ERA. It was 5.98 in the 2nd half a WHIP of 1.77. He gave up 75 hits in 50 innings.
 
So was this a royal Cubs screw-up or the right thing to do at the time to let him go? 40 HR's on August 4th.

 
Just keep Swanson at the bottom of the line-up. Seems to hit better down there.
