I think Iowa goes by hours instead of days now. So they squeezed in 2 or 3 hours today that they won’t have to worry about in June, I guess.
Give me extreme cold over extreme heat any day

If you have a Carrier outside your home you already have a monument to the man. That holiday would be, appropriately enough, right at the midpoint of summer, July 17.
Willis Carrier. After starting in New York City he moved to Syracuse,New York where his company really took off. The Carrier Dome at Syracuse was named in his honor. The Carrier Dome didn't have air conditioning when it opened,not sure if that's still the case.
There is something exciting about bundling up and going out in sub zero temps. There is nothing exciting about walking outside when it's 100+.
Torrential downpour and lot-o-thunder but well short of "You're All Going to Die" wind.
And no hail

I'll take the extreme heat. And once you move away to a warmer climate and live there for awhile, so will you.
Yeah but when I sip on a glass of whiskey in front of a fire in the winter, no one questions it. But in the summer when I walk around shirtless in the neighborhood drinking Jim Beam from the bottle all of a sudden people get their panties in a twist.
Worked outside most of the day. By 10 am (started at 9) my shirt was fully drenched and by 11:15 my pants just below my pockets was as wet as my shirt. Humid enough that it was just hard to catch your breath at times.
Not a chance. I have a bit of heat induced asthma. With the cold you can always put on more layers only so far you can go with the heat.
Also **** Texas.
When I was younger I would have agreed. The heat sucks, but when temps get below zero **** just doesn't work right. I hate the nights of -30 hoping nothing goes wrong with my furnace and all the vehicles will start the next day.
Don't get me wrong, I ******* hate his heat as much as I hate the extreme cold. But given the choice of 100 or 0 I would choose the heat most of the time
I can deal with 100 degree weather. But 100 degree weather and 80 degree dewpoints...mother nature can eat a big fat one.
