80 mph winds. Let's hope it loses some steam by time it hits metro because if it picks up steam, oof...
Doubt it gets stronger but decent chance it doesn’t get any weaker by the time it gets to Des Moines area.

Having lived in both, LOL. Not. Even. Close.I don’t know if this unpopular opinion but Omaha is the most overrated place in the Midwest. I’d rather live in Peoria.
Most of the futurecast radars have this breaking up before it hits the Metro. Fingers crossed that's the case.
Average frequency of a derecho impacting Iowa somewhere is essentially every other year. When the 2020 derecho hit, wasn't it only like the second or third one in 20 years or something? Now predictions of derechos seem to get dropped pretty regularly.
Now up to 193000. Old walnut tree went down across lane. Tractor work tomorrow. Snapped it off at ground level. Charging battery for chainsaw and clean up in morning. Missed house and other treesBIL works for OPPD over 142,000 without power. Needless to say he got called in to work.
Uprooted trees and tons of power outages. A trampoline from a few neighbors down almost hit my brother's house.Looks like Omaha is getting ****** up.

Re-issued now, but at 60mph, instead of 80 which was the original tag on that part of the storm.Warning has been expired upstream of Des Moines for now. (7:30)
And I hope they keep underperforming we don't need that again.Feel like we have a couple storms per year were the word 'derecho' gets thrown around. None of them come close to resembling the storm in 2020.
