Is that why there is a flash flood warning for Blue Earth right now? Seemed odd this morning since it isn’t raining.

It runs north, emptying into the Minnesota River, which is good news for north central IA

Mankato is in blue earth county. Blue earth the town is faribault county. Faribault the town is in Steele? County I think.

So are there active plans to prevent these floods? Just looking at a map, this was bound to happen to a town like Spencer that has a river running through the center of town. I get why towns popped up along rivers but nowadays you basically need to plan for flooding if that is your topography

Last time Spencer flooded similar to this was in the 50s. Lots of Spencer along the river had been turned into green space. Main Street is actually a pretty fair bit higher than the rivet. But yeah I'm guessing their flood plain just got expanded.

The dam has broke loose. Mankato is in Blue Earth County. Blue Earth is not in Blue Earth County.

Janesville had an EF-2. Drove through the damage path which is on my way to work, every tree was down or severely damaged. There's a large pheasant farm in the area too that had 50,000 birds get loose.

Back yard is still very squishy (twin cities) from all the rain last week. It is still way to wet to mow. I may have to buy some sheep pretty soon

Husband about to go finish mowing what got cut off by rain Friday. Hopefully not too muddy where we had 2.5 ft of water Saturday.

We mowed on Friday. Mowing again today. It’s like every 3-4 days we gotta do it.

And if Google maps is correct, the edge of that home is usually 200+ feet from the riverbank.
