Ames
Got off 1-80 to go to Ames around 8 tonight. Holy cow pissing on a flat rock!! 35-40 mph with wipers full speed, people pulling over others putting their flashers on. Don’t think I’ve seen the sky that dark before in a long time. I hit a bad storm just north of Keokuk earlier. At least my car is clean now from all the cicadas I hit while in St. Louis.

Not exactly sure.
3” plus in Algona late this afternoon. Didn’t really need this now. Won’t get any planting done this week.
Guy I know who lives near garrigan told me he had 4.5.

We had just shy of 4 inches from Saturday to yesterday morning. Ponds are as large as I’ve EVER seen. It’s getting really old.

We are now down to only about a month more of these rains to break this drought as I was told a month ago (that we needed a couple months of this to leave the drought).

I may need my boat to get around if this keeps up.

A guy from Algona sent me a video of a car that was stranded in the street because it tried going through too deep of water. It could be from there.
Ugh, saw flying cyclone picked up an extra 3 inches, probably not needed. We got another .3 or so. Did you dodge the bullet?

Not sure. Haven’t went up there yet. We needed a week without rain to dry out from this weekend through Monday. Someone closer up there said they had half an inch. Central Hancock had 8 tenths when I checked.

2.4 inches in Grimes tonight. Much more than I thought it would be. I was at least able to confirm that a bird has plugged up the highest gutter on my house. After removing 2 nests the other week from lower gutters that were plugged I'm putting in some guards on all of them.
