Brother-in-laws backyard is already completely flooded in Maxwell. Luckily they don't have a basement, already sandbagging and plastic bagging their shoes to get their cars to higher ground

Based on how incredibly over dramatic our 2nd grader is with everything, I can only imagine the hell elementary teachers are having right now.

I have a kid that gets pretty anxious with weather and I'm kind of wishing I'd just kept him home today.

People always do that, lol. Reminds me in 2013 when everyone said that. Think May had like 2 days without rain that year. Drought talk vanished in a hurry.
But the groundwater level is still 1/8" below normal. Severe drought.

Just heard the term "rain fog" for the first time. I guess that's wind blown rain which causes reduced visibility.

I'll be super pissed if our vehicles get hailed on. I just got wrecked a car in January and had to get a new one. I also had $2K in car repairs recently done on the other.

In Urbandale have some wind......nothing that is bending the tree's. No hail and really not as much lightning and thunder that usually comes with this type of storm. But it is raining in sheets. Haven't seen it rain like this since late last June.
