not disagreeing with you but there are several people saying bring them up and cc had the chance in spring ball and did not do it and would the fans be patient having all the young guys up and not being successful?

The FO thinks they have a team built for a WS run. Every Cubs fan wanted to believe that a signing like Bellinger would put us in contention but this is not a good team. He doesn’t bring them up because it’s not his call and you have about $112 million in bad contracts you can’t dump. Cubs have to continually run out a marginal lineup every night to guys that have no edge to their game.
It’s amazing how many guys on the Brewers were castoffs from other teams that fight like hell to stay in the bigs by doing the little things right. Heck Colin Rea was toiling in Des Moines and he is arguably the Brewers best pitcher now.
Perfect example of little things. Last night in the 5th, runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and Hoerner up. First pitch, he tries to bunt for a hit and totally misses. Ends up popping out, Busch strikes out looking, and Bellinger hits a lazy fly to left.
Getting the bunt down as a sacrifice transforms the options of the inning and the Cubs just can’t do those little things to manufacture runs. They are constantly shooting for the big inning and have too many guys that whiff (least productive out in baseball).

I know JD said that but I don't believe he was bunting for a hit. The booth tends to stretch things a bit to make the players look better.
That is kind of my point. The team struggles to score runs, why wouldn’t he actually sacrifice to put pressure on the other team’s SP by advancing the runners? This team has scored over 7 runs just 1 time since April 20th and we lost that game 10-9! The mindset of the “explosive inning” has to change and we have to manufacture runs playing small ball. If we had a few guys slugging over .500, I’d say play for the big inning but we have one of the worst slugging percentages in MLB and team history.
I believe besides bullpen the biggest issue is hitting coach. We know all these guys can get hot and at times carry a team. They need to find someone that can level them off allowing them to produce on a regular basis.
Glad for a win any day but tired of putting lipstick on a pig with this team too.
They should not be buyers if they are still playing like this in a few weeks. My hope is the front office finds a way to move a few guys, dump some of the dead weight in the process and finish out the season by moving on with some callups and giving some prospects some runway in the big leagues. Not against seeing if we can trade Bellinger too and take the possibility of him opting in next season out of the equation and use that money elsewhere. It's been awhile since we've had an impact position prospect come up and make a difference and part of that is we keep blocking guys with marginal players as well as guys we can't seem to move on from like Mastrobuoni Wisdom and Madrigal who don't have high ceilings and we know what kind of player they are at this point.

Batting .153 at AA this year. Sounds like somebody who will fit right into our catcher rotation.

Nido isn't a world beater but he is an upgrade and Amaya isn't going to have to play everyday against unfavorable matchups all the time.

So you don't see value in a righty power hitter off the bench that crushes lefties. What's the point of even having a conversation with you?
Whiffdom sucks badly. Every game I watch he pops it up on the infield. This supposed power hitter has a grand total of 3 home runs and has an OPS similar to Nico. It's time to cut some of this dead weight and get some players serious about winning.
going to agree with you. it seems like the whole problem for a lot of people are those three players so move them and the Cubs will be WS contenders like they don't play that much but the 9 guys that do are really tearing it up and winning games with their offense.

There are no favorable matchups for Amaya and his defense has singlehandledly cost us 3-4 games in this run. Fine with DFA'ing Gomes but we should be done with Amaya, too. He's horrible.
