***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

Talked to the ISU Extension guy that covers from Spencer to Algona today. He is checking moisture levels in the soil down to 4-5 feet. He said there is very good moisture down to about 3 feet. After that soil is very dry. So we will continue to need good rain and snow to refill the top 5-6 feet, for next years crops.

It's so spotty. I actually had issues with too much rain for certain fields and I'm in what is considered moderate drought. Most was due to a couple major rains. Four inch areas.

Weather predictions for this winter in Iowa are claiming average to below average snowfall due to El Nino, so not too promising for crops.

Sounds like Chris Gloniger is doing alot better now that he's away from all the "Iowa Nice". He took a job in Cape Cod and said he's gotten alot of support letters from Iowa farmers.

Just thought the two triggered posters on this thread would like an update.

We sure miss your 0-6 inch snow forecasts, your berating people for hiding under bridges from golf ball size hail. Your absolute disdain for people who don't agree with you. It sounds like you really enjoy your new job.......please stay there.

I was wrong, turns out there were 3 triggered posters, not 2. For the record, I never once watched the guy, I prefer Ed Wilson, just think it's weird he was getting death threats over weather.
