On my way to get my milk and bread

That Friday setup is something I've heard my weather podcasters talking about since Saturday. Its going to be interesting to see how that unfolds.

It’s going to be a wet spring if something doesn’t change soon.

It took me two years and shiton of work to fix my house after the derecho. I still have trees that need attention. No effing thank you. I hate snow but I'll take it every time over another tornado/derecho.
This pretty well describes my brother’s situation post derecho as well. A drive through southern Iowa nearly 13 months after the tornado shows parts of buildings still lodged up in the trees.

I currently have 4 different business cards on my desk in the past 2 weeks from tree service companies driving around Cedar Rapids drumming up business. I get them all summer. I took care of everything within reach of the house, the remaining aren't a hazard to anything but the ground and I'll deal with them in time. I still get a little PTSD when strong winds occur.

I would have to drive through our old neighborhood to check but last I knew someone had a big pine that landed right in the crook of another tree and it had been left there.

My neighbor had a huge linden tree that did the same. Had it not, instead of taking out my deck, it would have taken out my kitchen. It took a fair amount of analysis, how to cut it down without creating additional damage.

Most the remaining tree damage I have is where the top half of trees fell into the top half of other trees and created a mesh of dead branches 20+ feet up.
