***Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Thread***

I’m sure there is an easier way to look this up but I did the math and the cubs have played .640 baseball since July 1. For reference the braves on the season are .644. Wild stuff

And were 11-23 for a stretch in May/early June playing

Honestly not a bad outing in my opinion.

First run came because of a 4 pitch walk, a soft bloop fly ball, infield single, groundout resulted in the first run.

Next two runs came from a soft single and a bunt.

Only one real good piece of contact so far for the Sox, it just resulted in 2 runs. Timely hitting is nice

Hopefully he can give us 5. 36 pitches thus far through 2.

Ya, I was probably too harsh.

Difference last night was just timely hitting. MLB.com shows that the White Sox had just one hit over 95 MPH against Hendricks. That one hit happened to come after a soft single and a bunt for hit. We had 7 hard hits in just the first four innings.

I'm sure Hendricks is kicking himself for the four pitch walk in the first inning - just bloops and dinks were able to score that runner.

Tribune is reporting Assad will likely be taking the mound tonight.

Just pisses me off how the Sox always step it up for the Cubs. It's really an indictment of how little effort they give the rest of the season.

Tonight feels like a big one. You can't lose a series to the Sox. You just can't in this position.

It feels like some batters are pressing a little bit, which could be the result of some bad starting pitching lately. Just feels like most nights it's going to take 5+ runs to win.

Canario has a laser beam homer.

PCA single, walk, SB, run and a leaping catch against the wall. So typical game.
2 leaping catches. Almost the same catch. Made it look easy. I happened to be there to see it. Special dude.
