***Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Do yourselves a favor and start betting against the Cubs. It's been a profitable few weeks for me.

You give Ross through this year but if we can't scratch out a wild card spot (or win this trash division) he better start next year on the thinnest of thin ice.

+126 Astros -1.5 today. +125 for tomorrow as of right now. Not bad to hit 60% of the time.

On the bright side, our cornerstones in Swanson, Happ, and Hoerner have proven their worth; I’d like to see more from Suzuki but it’s entirely possible his start is related to missing Spring Training.

Additionally, this will likely lead to us having to trade Bellinger which would get us off the hook for the $5 million and likely would net a decent player that hopefully would be ready next year.

Suzuki is the new Heyward problem—-got too much invested in him to do anything other than trot him out there everyday. Slugging .358 from the cleanup spot is by far the lowest in baseball if he were to stay in that spot in the lineup.
Seems like more of a slow start due to no spring training.

Don’t feel Ross deserves all the blame, as this team has no depth, but I’m starting to think Rossy may not make it much longer. Pretty tough in this market to lose 14 of 19, especially in the fashion of which they’re doing so in which they’re either getting **** slapped or the bullpen ***** the bed

This team is pretty much spineless. You could see that loss coming a mile away.

Their decision to not invest in a closer this year is significantly backfiring. The “cobble the pen together with a bunch of marginal dudes” strategy is risky. It’s paid off for a few years, but this year far from it.

The false hope they gave fans in April was such a tease... Expectations in March were to be competent this year before they start the winning window (spending) in 2024.

The division is there to take, but I pray Jed and ownership don't sell the farm and try to win this year..
