We are -5.76" of normal for rain since June 1st per Chanhassen, MN NWS station. Same period last year was -4.20". Mpls airport station is sort of ****** up and showing an inch of rain yesterday, an error that needs correcting because it didn't rain anywhere. They reworked their web and report pages and I'm having a time finding what I want.

I wake up around 2 to go to the bathroom. I go back to bed and notice our neighbor's outside light is on and she is collecting rain water in bowl and pouring it into a 5 gallon container. SMH. It was like she was bailing water out of a boat.
If she was wearing a white t shirt I could get into that.

We need rain.

Walked the dog early at a park with a lake that he usually drinks a bit from the shore but the water has receded at least a foot. No wonder our bird bath needs refilling three times a day.

There will be NO biking in the northland today. Das weather, woof!

94 and dew point of 73 makes for a heat index of 104. Throw in SE wind at 24 mph with gusts to 45 mph. The weather gods are VERY angry.

We’re up to 97 degrees. Dog had to pee but immediately tried to go back in. Coaxed him out with an ice cube and held an umbrella over him for shade.

Some parts of Illinois have had 10 inches of rain in 12 hours today. Glad we haven’t had that!

Not sure it this big storm bearing down is going to give some rain or just blow trees down. Put on my head lamp and unplugged the laptop. Something about sitting with a plugged in laptop on your lap doesn't seem wise with all of the thunder booming. Still not much rain.

Update: Lot of red colors on radar and lightening, all for a whooping .18" of rain. Better than nothing but as dry as it's been that's close to nothing.

Been raining pretty steady (Twin Cities) for over an hour. NWS station reports 1/2" by 10:00 and still raining. We are -6.88" from normal since June 1st so this isn't exactly a drought breaker but this steady rain is way better than a 1/2" thunderstorm dump that would have half run off.

Nothing here, even with a 98% chance of rain.
