NBA: ***Official 2019 NBA Playoffs Thread***

Some people like it. I won't lie, I do, and I wish ISU would do it for the noncon games where there is no energy.
I'm pretty sure it would be a violation of some NCAA rule.

RULE 10 / FOULS AND PENALTIES 129
Art. 9 Team followers, as in Rule 4-27, shall not commit an unsportsmanlike act, including, but not limited to, the following:
a. Using musical instruments, amplified music or artificial noisemakers while the game is in progress, except timeouts and intermission.

Thank goodness for that rule. They better not ever change it for the sake of the game.

Watching the NBA is awful for that very reason. I don't mind the action, just can't listen to all that stupid piped in noise all night.

Connaughton was a great pickup for the Bucks. Hopefully they close out Boston on Wednesday.

I don’t think the Celtics future is as bright as previously thought. Tatum regressed this year. Hayward didn’t come back strong although showed some signs of being back to normal at the end of he year. Kyrie may not want to stay long term.

The Bucks play so much harder on defense than the Celtics do. Irving, for example, could not get away playing like he does under Budenholzer.
Have to laugh at Paul Pierce saying after Game 1: "I think this series is over."

Warriors really blew a great opportunity in game 3 to put Houston away. Steph was just not good and him and Thompson shot like crap in both games in Houston. Now it is a dog fight. But glad it is a great series.

If I was Boston I would try to do a sign and trade with Kyrie this offseason. I think next year Hayward will be much better. Paul George wasn't himself either until the second season back. Tatum didn't improve much this year but I still think he can be very good. Bucks have a chance to dominate the East for the next 9-10 years with Giannis.

Do you think the Celtics are the frontrunners for Anthony Davis? I still think they can put together the best trade package of picks and young players for him if they want to go for broke.

That's true. They probably will go for broke on Anthony Davis but then the issue will be what are they left.

That might be the catch. You'd think the Pelicans will push hard for any deal to include either Brown or Tatum, and I'm not sure the Celtics should part with either one for what could be just a one year rental for AD. Tatum regressed a little this year but he's still way too young to give up on.

So Philly is probably going to have two all-stars for a long time, but they blew a lot of assets on Harris and Butler who are FA this offseason. I kind of think the process is going to end up puttering to a few conference semifinals with no hardware.

Monte has not had much of an impact this series, which is surprising since he played some of his best regular season ball against the Blazers. Hopefully he can put it together soon or I can see his minutes dwindling more.

Yeah, if Toronto closes them out I think Brett Brown is gone. Could be a lot of changes in Philly this offseason. Whoever's in charge after the dust settles needs to have a serious conversation with Embiid and Simmons. Embiid has to get in better shape and drop some weight. If he's already playing on bad knees and a bad back he needs to be carrying zero extra pounds. There's no way he's playing anywhere close to his listed weight of 250.

And Ben Simmons is going nowhere without a reliable jumper. It's such a glaring deficiency for such a talented guy.

Without a fully healthy Embiid, the Sixers just aren't good enough because their pieces don't fit together and I think Simmons is more interested in celebrity than actually improving his game. I think this year he took zero steps forward and I don't think he is a winner. If I was Philly I would take a gamble and bet on Embiid and try to get all I could in a trade with Simmons and keep Harris and Butler. They need a PG who can shoot.

The Fultz pick was an unfortunate thing for the Sixers. He could have been the scoring shooting PG they needed to compliment some of their guys.

Denver is such a great story this year. Hope they make it to the Finals actually.

Yeah, he has seemed a little off this series. Might be the pressure of the playoffs.

I'm a life-long Bucks fan, but if Butler and Embiid were on my team, I'd have to stop watching them until they were no longer on my team. Those two (and the Morris Twins from KU) are my least favorite players in the NBA.

WHAT?!! Embiid is one of my favorites. Guy is entertaining has heck. And as far as Butler goes, I love how hard he plays and competes, even if I don't really like some other things he has done
