And yet, the Magic Number continues to fall...
Yep...just get hot for the playoffs! (and keep home field advantage in the NL).
- I think we clinch the Division a week from Thursday and we get to 95 wins to take top in the NL.
- Dodgers edge out the Rockies by a game in the West and get 90 Wins. Braves get 91 wins and host LA to start the NLDS.
- Cubs get the winner of the Wild-Card, which is St Louis (90 wins) at Milwaukee (92 wins), which honestly scares the crap out of me.
The honest goal of this Arizona series might be to not get swept and hope for the best. Tonight’s starter for the D-Backs’s has been really, really good since the All-Star break.
If Cubs finish a very pedestrian 7-6 to finish at 94 wins, the Brewers would have to finish 9-3 to keep pace. Cards would have to finish 12-0.
D-backs haven't even named a starter for tomorrow, and Hamels is pitching Wednesday. Id be surprised if we got swept.
Ill be pleasantly surprised if they win all 3, happy if they win 2, meh if they win 1, and upset if they get swept.
What I'm thinking happens: 4-2 this week, 4-3 next week.
It kind of made sense with Rizzo leading off. However, with the way Russell has been hitting, I can't argue.
Not very often a ump gets a play wrong by that much. This is what instant replay was meant for not that bs of a guy popping off a base for a nano second on a slide.
