It was a tough play. In slow motion replays it looked like the ball was probably going to go in on its own, but in real time standing underneath the basket it would have been really difficult to judge. Too bad for Jordan, because other than that he played brilliantly. You want someone to blame for the Clips, look to the bench. They were awful again last night, and a big reason why Blake Griffin and the other starters were gassed in the final quarter.

I hated them after the Horry/Stern punk play gifted them a title, but have grown to love them.

Nobody is going to take them down easily, that is for sure.

Damn. Why did you have to remind me that Stern was a thing not too long ago. I hated that guy.
 
Couple big games tonight. I know Game 7 would be in Chicago, but I feel like the Bulls need to close this thing out now. The Bucks are playing with house money having even made this a competitive series, and in a Game 7 all the pressure would be on the Bulls.

I have no idea what's going to happen in San Antonio. It seems like the Spurs have steadily worn down the Clips with their superior bench, and who knows how much LA's starting five has left in the tank. I think I like San Antonio to close out the series but it'll be another close one.

Got a Chicago-San Antonio moneyline parlay at +125, so hoping we get both series finished off tonight. This seems like a game where the Spurs break the Clips and win going away, much like Game 3.

You must have some pretty mixed feelings about Cavs being undermanned then...that combined with ATL struggling against Nets makes the East a complete crap shoot. I'd feel good about Chicago finally being healthy if they weren't suddenly playing like they didn't give a crap the past three games.

If the Spurs win this year it'll really be something. 6 championships spread out over 16 years with Pop and Duncan a part of it all, that's truly legendary stuff. It is anyway, but adding another at this point would be ridiculous.

I think the title will come down to Golden St-San Antonio in the WCF's. Thought the Grizzlies might give the Warriors a series, but not with Conley as banged up as he is. I agree that the East is turning into a total crapshoot, I'd still pick the Cavs as the most likely team to come out of there but only because of LeBron.

I want the Bulls to beat the Bucks, I want to see what Thibs comes up with to defend Cleveland. I was looking forward to see how Love and Irving perform in their first tough playoff series, but now it's down to just Kyrie. Cleveland's defense is not particularly good, although losing Love might actually improve it, Miami always had the ability to just crank up the defensive pressure when they were struggling, Cleveland can't do that. So I'm interested in seeing how a really good defensive coach like Thibs approaches this series. I wouldn't be shocked at all if the Bulls win, but hard to pick against the Cavs when they have two guys who can go off for 40+ any night.

Tibs will let James or Kyrie go off, not both - focus on the rest of the team and keep Cleveland in the 80-85 point range. The Bulls match up fairly well if they can back to playing like they did a week ago.

Plus if Tibs goes to the finals, that might keep him in chicago.

response to you and CyJack...I think Thibs having one foot out the door may be why the team isn't playing as hard as they typically do. It was like the past four years or so they played with insane energy and guts to overcome not having much offense, now just jogging around on D and not finishing strong except for Butler.

Yeah, they've also added Gasol and Mirotic to the rotation and Gasol has never been an overly active defender and I don't think Mirotic is either, Noah has a lot of miles on him. Even when Rose was winning the MVP the Bulls were better defensively with him off the floor, so it could be a combination of what you said and also making roster moves to sacrifice defense in order to increase offense.

Could be. The only hope for the Clips is that one of their bench guys has a totally random great shooting night. I do think that after Doc's postgame comments that LA will also get a few more whistles tonight. Coaches ramp up the officiating comments in the postseason, and it's not by accident.

I laughed at Doc's "I'm not one to complain" line. I don't think there's a coach, or team, that ******* about officiating more than Doc and the Clippers.
 
I'm going to be honest with you guys, I've actually found myself kind of rooting for the Bucks. They are a good team to watch and I like how they play. They will be a great up and coming team over the next few seasons, no doubt.

My picks: Spurs and Bucks tonight.

The cubs/cyclone combo is brutal to the point that I've phased out the cubs quite a bit. Bulls are a dream in comparison especially for anyone on board for the dynasty. Guess I'm lucky I never became a Bears fan even living there 14 years.
