NBA: *** Official 2014 NBA Playoffs Thread ***

Jordan is an old man who's probably lucky they didn't Pete Rose him out of the league.

If you're good for business they'll find a way.

If people didn't compare LeBron to him I wouldn't. It's a silly comparison at this point unless LeBron goes on a sick second run with the Heat or another team.

You know who compares him to Jordan more than any other group? Bulls fans!

No matter what the discussion is regarding LeBron, you can always count on a butthurt Bulls fan to come in and tell everyone how he's not like Jordan.

I kind of want to see LeBron play for Chicago so I get the pleasure of watching Bulls fans twist themselves in knots.

I'm very happy the Spurs won, but LeBron takes too much heat. He isn't Jordan, but he is a great player. The Heat, however, are not a great team.

I agree with you however…a great team whose leaders called themselves the greatest trio to ever play the game before playing a game…they're going to take heat (no pun intended) if they get blown out three times in a row in the playoffs.

The only slightest criticism I have with LBJ is when people want a GOAT discussion, I didn't even criticize the cramps this year. GOAT is a ridiculously high bar that has been set, LBJ has had moments that make you think about it, but other moments like the finals four years ago that make it almost silly to consider him.

Tre brought up what I responded too. Is he a Bulls fan? It sure doesn't seem like it. You do seem like a Heat fan circa four years ago.

If LeBron could legitimately put himself in the GOAT discussion as a Chicago Bull I'd be thrilled because it would mean we'd be racking up more championships with a player statistically dominating the NBA playoffs and finals almost every year. There'd be no 'knot twisting' because I deal in REALITY. Either he's made it a debate or he hasn't, so far he hasn't.

This statement is either giving Wade way too much credit or not giving Pippen nearly enough.

Wade and Pippen were comparable players the first two years of superfriends. Bosh is more talented than Horrace Grant. The supporting players and vets are comparable. It's LeBron fan twisting to act as if he STILL hasn't had any help…yeah the team looked like crap getting blown out SA three games in a row. Anyone who says they weren't one of, if not the, most talented teams in the NBA the past four years is a moron.

Another thing that rarely gets brought up, when players become the GM and form their team, if they claim the team isn't good enough for them to win it's partially of their own doing by playing GM rounding up their friends to play. I'd rather not make this comparison…but if people want to irrationally act like this Heat team has not had a ton of talent the past few years, who was primarily responsible for forming the core of this team and strapping them with 3 gigantic contracts?

1. Scottie Pippen was better than Dwyane Wade in every facet of the game at any point in either players careers.
2. Horace Grant is better than any interior player LeBron has played with. Bosh was a pretty good player on an awful team which totally inflated what he was really worth. Ray Allen is probably the most useful (not best, but useful) player LeBron has ever played with
3. When you talk about talent you talk about names. You talk about Wade and Allen as if they are 27 and in their prime. They aren't. Allen is now pretty much one dimension and Wade never could play defense not to mention his legs are done. You never acknowledge that pretty much every piece that Jordan played with was aquired after he was there and it was a core that won how many games when he left the first time? So, you are going to tell me that they have comparable talent to the first three peat squads when no one would argue that if Lebron werent there, this roster would win 55 games.

If you want to bring up all of the stuff that makes MJ better than LeBron, that's fine. He was better. He won more. Just don't act like I'm making stuff up when I point out the fact that MJ had a pretty damn good ownership and his teams weren't good enough to be at the bottom of the draft so adding pieces was pretty easy. 4 first rounders in 88-89. The Cavs have had half the #1 picks since LeBron left. The Cavs went from 61 wins to 19. That either falls on the players still there or the management ******* up a supporting cast.

Bulls fans hate Scottie Pippen almost as much as they hate LeBron. They just don't talk about it. Comparing Pippen and Wade is comical. Comparing Wade to Allen Iverson is much better but Iverson at least did something on defense. You give LeBron another wing who is solely good defensively, and you have something. He's never had that.

The Pippen vs Wade comparison is a pretty terrible one, because Pippen is such a complete player. I think he was referring to the 3rd best player and that being Bosh > Grant.

Well, that one's stupid too. Grant served a purpose that the Heat could have really used. Bosh missing a bunch of jumpers and sucking defensively wasn't helpful this series.

You said all four Heat Finals teams were more talented than the Bulls first three-peat times. I find it difficult to make an argument that this year's Heat team was. Wade is 32, he only played in 50 games in the regular season, can barely play back to backs anymore, he was terrible in the Finals. Pippen was in his mid 20's, was a first team All NBA defender each of those years, was putting up 17+/7/7, hell he was runner up for the MVP the year Jordan left. I think Bosh is better than Grant but not enough to make up the difference between Wade and Pippen. BJ Armstrong was an All-Star in 1994, neither Allen or Chalmers is close to an all-star at this stage in their career. Outside of that, no one really stands out on either team. The Heat's first three teams were certainly comparable, or better, in talent than the Bulls first threepeat, but I don't think this year's team was.

1. Scottie Pippen was better than Dwyane Wade in every facet of the game at any point in either players careers. (I love scottie but his career is very comparable to Wade's, the fact that you say Pippen was better in every facet shows you probably didn't really watch Pippen play much. Pippen was never anywhere near the electric scorer that Wade was up until this year. Wade is a good defender especially early in his career but he is not the defender Pippen was. Wade won a scoring title and averaged 24ppg for a career while Pippen never even broke 22ppg for a season.)
2. Horace Grant is better than any interior player LeBron has played with. Bosh was a pretty good player on an awful team which totally inflated what he was really worth. Ray Allen is probably the most useful (not best, but useful) player LeBron has ever played with. (Horace Grant was a career 11.1 points and 8.2 rebounds player, Chris Bosh is a career 19.2 points and 8.7 rebound player, like I said LeBron fans and contrarians have made Horace Grant the most overrated player of all time. Grant's best seasons do not even compare to Bosh's.)

You think every player on MJ's team was in their prime for all 6 titles? Same difference.

Man, so silly you continue to act as if this is some epic debate or refute the talent Miami has had the past four years. If the team sucks blame the three player GM's who formed it with 3 huge contracts.

You're really splitting hairs man…yeah this year's team was not as good as the first three and it really showed in the finals…it was still an extremely talented team for four years. If the team sucks blame the player GMs.

I'm realizing LeBron fans claim to have watched the Bulls but really none of them have. Tre claiming that Pippen was better at every part of the game his whole career than Wade is probably the biggest proof I've seen of that.

In regard to players being in their prime- Yeah, they key ones pretty much were.

In regard to Pippens and Wade's ppg that you are obsessed with- Wade spent most of his career as either the only scorer or only perimeter scorer on the team. Pippen spent most of his alongside Jordan. Of course he didn't average as many ppg. That's just basic basketball logic. He also could guard the best player on the other team so Jordan didn't have to which you don't seem to think matters

In regard to Bosh/Grant- Bosh can't guard anyone and he's worthless in terms of team defense. Then he sucked for most of the series.

On again, when you say talent, you mean names, not what they actually bring.

Yeah, well someone has to be willing to sign them and GIlbert wasn't. It wasn't excuses. It was me saying LeBron was better at helping his team win early and that ended up hurting his chances of winning with the Cavs. Yeah, it would have been great if he could have gotten teamed up with about 4 other top 10 picks and another top 5 pick just through the draft. And I don't think you do get it mostly because you use those stupid little nicknames like Skip Bayless. You're like Skip Bayless.

What nicknames? Are you talking about lecramp? lol. I said that like a week ago.

So did Skip.

Yes he sure did, and millions of others too. :) Just a little odd that you're bringing up something that's over a week old. A little low on ammunition.

By the way, you and CYjack are the #1 lebron defenders. Is it safe to assume that you both think he's better than Jordan? You are always the first to discredit his airness while defend lebron, and you have also both dodged the question, so I would like you to both go on record with this.
