MLB: ***OFFICIAL 2014 MLB Postseason Thread***

Shields has settled down amd pitched nicely since the first. And while Lester is down 3-2, he's still not doing too badly. 62 pitches almost through 5.

Not a fan of putting youngster SP in as a reliever, hindsight is what it is I guess.

The Royals have been Yosted. Pull Shields when he hasn't even hit 90 pitches. The first guy you use out of the bullpen is a young starter who has walk issues at times and isn't exactly used to coming into a game in the middle of an inning with inherited runners on. You don't even use a lefty against the lefty bats coming up (Finnegan?). Yep, Yosted.

The more I look into that move and learn about Ventura, the more I am baffled by yost's decision. If that is normal, I can see why the Brewers wanted him gone.

If you're a Royals fan, you're thinking of the Price is Right "sad" theme song....

I love Ventura. He's probably the guy I'd want to throw a Game 2 in a playoff series for
the Royals. But he's absolutely not a guy I'd put in a game in that situation.

I cant wait to hear Ned's reasoning for that move.

I bet he'll say something about Shields' propensity to give up the longball, which he is known to do.

I think the pressure got to Salvador a bit there. Didn't even look like he saw the ball.
