The Nebraska girls basketball tournament is using the Devaney. The Coliseum is their volleyball venue. This smaller building should make for a high energy environment.

It's going to be a great day! We could be the only team to qualify their whole lineup for Nationals!

While this is true, I would think it is more likely we get 8 in and that would be fine too. It is more important to have guys go far in Nationals than have 10 make it and 6 or 7 drop right away.

I think it will come down to Varner and Big Z, if they can go all the way we will win Nationals, if either is upset at any point, we won't.

Like last year.

curious as to the 2 you think won't qualify?

I am banking on 9 actually. I really don't think Burk will make it. He COULD but the odds are better that he won't. The only other one I am really worried about is Ward, just because he doesn't really impress me and he doesn't have an auto bid. He should still get in but I am just worried about him.

i agree with 9. i really hope ward doesn't falter. it will be great added experience for him to qualify, and he's a good enough wrestler to possibly score some upsets at nationals and get us much needed team points. i too will be surprised if burk makes it.

Yeah, even if Burk makes it I highly doubt he will do much at Nationals. I would love to be wrong because that would help a lot but I just don't see it.

The OSU wrestler (Hill) is the only 184-pounder that didn't earn an auto spot. Four guys are going at 184, and Ward is the #2 seed. He needs to win one match.

Burk will need to win two to steal a spot. If he finishes 4th, he's still probably in because only McSpadden (OSU) is ranked above him as far as non-auto guys are concerned.

How did he get the 4th point? I saw the escape and takedown but didn't see the other point.

I think Burk didn't know he was suppose to actually try in the first 2 periods ...I'm very dissapointed in his effort today.
