As much as I like Carr, Young is undoubtedly the favorite on paper. Carr could definitely win, and I think is the better wrestler over time, but Carr just hasn’t wrestled anyone yet.
Good call. I was more figuring out how he got to 5. Not a favorite at 157 but definitely a match that can be won.
I doubt that kid has a good first experience at Hilton. But it's probably good Carr's first match is against someone of lesser quality.
I wanted to see him against Hartman. If I remember correctly Hartman is a true sophomore and tough on top. I’d have to go back and look at some of his matches.
Hartmann is listed at 165 on their roster and in their lineup but he wrestled at 157 at the Bearcat Open last weekend. So there's a chance he could go 157. They wrestle at NIU on Friday night so it's worth seeing where he goes there.
I just wonder if maybe he is 165 for duals and 157 for tournaments and since our dual should be a blowout they might give him a try against Carr.
I want to see Carr wrestle their HWT. You think it’s possible to just have him wrestle the entire lineup?

I agree that Young is the favorite on paper based on folk results.. but I absolutely would wager think that Carr beats Young on the 24th. Junior world champs have a good track record of being elite in folkstyle, as well.

If I had to wager, I would probably bet that Young wins the match in the dual. However, come NCAAs I have a feeling Carr will be really hitting his stride and will be very tough to beat.
It is extremely entertaining to watch a clone beat a hawk at nationals.
I think Young gets him this time, but Carr is higher at nationals.
Several of the junior world champs took losses to guys far worse than Young.

What a shock you pick a Hawk to beat us..wow what a surprise. Yes, Carr could get beat but he is way more talented and my money would be on him!
It’s is funny that on HR I’m the biggest Cyclone fan in the world, over here I’m just a typical hawk fan/clone hater. Guess that’s what happens when you think for yourself.
Hope I’m wrong, but I see this as a very tough match up for Carr this early in his career.
