not even on the list

People probably don't even know that there are two schools called Iowa State and Northern Illinois.

Anyway, I love ESPN polls, because you can often see the geographical bias. For example, while a majority of the nation has selected Utah v Pitt, the Minnesota game was voted #1 in Minnesota, the Southern Miss/SCar game was voted #1 by Mississippi and South Carolina, the Hawaii game by Hawaii (and oddly New Hampshire, though by a slight margin), and the Marshall/tOSU game by Ohio.

To be honest, even if our game was on the list, I still might be tempted to vote for Pitt & Utah. From a college football point of view (not the ISU rube that I am), that game does look like a potential good one!

I have even had trouble finding the listing in the papers in Kansas! Finally today I found the line. CPR will get ISU the attention it deserves in time!

The game is on ESPN's competitor, therefore they do not want to put it on the list and draw attention/TV viewers towards it.

You have to remember that ESPN should not be viewed mainly as sports media, but as a Cable Channel/Business first, sports media 2nd. That is why they will always give most of their attention to the conference's whose games they broadcast.

Any other night and this game would definitely be on my TV. I might have to DVR this one so I can watch it after our game.
