Northern Colorado Thread

KD said before the meet that MJ was a bit dinged up then seemed to correct himself and say he was a bit of a fatty. Said Rocky was perfectly healthy but a bit of a fatty, too. Both expected to wrestle vs SDSU.

Looked like a pretty good crowd considering the cold. Was there an announced attendance? Not much else to talk about on this one... when do we get a new mat?

4,775! Which is honestly very impressive!

I got home and was starting to write and I was like....what is there to even write about this dual besides Cyclones kicked ass. haha

First National Championship was in State Gym at ISU in 1928? I didn't know that. I loved State Gym. I would have liked to see ISU sponsor the NCAAs in Des Moines in 2028 for the century, but that ship has sailed.

I thought they said our first national championship was 1933. During the meet, I looked up at the banners and confirmed that there is indeed a 1933 banner.

Maybe SDSU. They have Berge who is real tough. I personally wouldn’t run him out against any of the 197’s he’s missed lately. Just not worth it. We need Elam in March.
Could someone explain the need to save Elam? Is he coming off an injury? Haven’t seen him much but to me he’s looked dominant.

He's old with a lot of broken miles on him. It has been said by the staff and Rocky himself that he wasn't going to wrestle a full schedule and a lot of it was going to be listening to his body so he is ready for March.

Didn’t realize Earl Hall was an assistant at UNCO.
Earl was an assistant with Nickerson at Northern Colorado. I think Earl is the only one that stayed on staff. Anyone know what Garret Kiley is doing now? I don't think he went to Army with Nickerson

Because he’s a bonafide ace with lots of miles on the tires and nothing to prove. Use him for the big duals and march. That’s always been the plan. You will see him down the stretch.

Where was he sitting? I was looking for him, since I heard he loves wrestling and was going to be there
I wondered the same thing. Who was the kid on our bench with the cowboy hat on?
