NOPE final trailer

I guess I put that fully on the shoulders of the viewer. Like, if that’s your expectation going into a Jordan Peele movie, then you haven’t even done the least bit of research going into the movie.

As for the movie itself, I thought it had a great mixture of suspense, comedy and a little “what the **** is going on?” which Peele is phenomenal at balancing. I thought the actress that played the sister was amazing. And even though his role wasn’t massive, I liked Steven Yeun in it as well. I’d agree with your assessment and put this just below Get Out and just above Us. And that’s no disservice to Us, I just thought it fell apart a little in the second half, where this one stayed solid throughout the film.
Keke Palmer is finally getting the visibility she’s deserved. I love her.

Saw it last night and I'm still processing. Right now I'd say it's a solid film worth a watch but I see my opinion changing with time and after a second viewing. Wasn't quite what I expected which I actually see as a good thing most of the time and that was definitely the case with Nope. Not as many laughs as I thought going in but I was still entertained throughout. Loved the fresh take on the classic UFO tale and the main point I believe Peele was making with the film was very effective. Lastly, I have to say running to the bathroom to hit a vape pen shortly before "the scene" might not have been the best choice. Pretty sure I held my breath and shook my head the whole time.

I avoided this trailer and any other advertisements for this one (except for the teaser) and loved it. Yes, Get Out is much stronger but I loved that this was less “alien invasion” and more of a classic monster movie. The Jaws comparison is the closest I can come to describing it without spoiling too much. It had some good, tense moments, and also some truly WTF moments that made me cringe with delight.

I feel like if this movie came out 20 years ago with Spielberg’s name attached people would have gone crazy over it. But because it’s Peele, it has be to be subversive, twisty, or w/e… it’s just a good monster film that doesn’t really explore the sci-fi angle all too much.

And yes Keke Palmer was phenomenal. The whole cast was great, all told.
