No more band, please!

I think it is time for the band to go bye-bye at basketball games. They don't add anything that the sound system can't do better. In fact, the speakers pump in something and then the band chirps in and kills the enthusiasm.

And they play the fight song so much that people don't even stand for it every time. I went to the ISU-KU game at Phog and they played their fight song TWICE. We play it 6-8 times a game.

Bands were important before sound systems. Just an antique now.

Wow i don't get why you would feel the need to post this at this time. Sidenote, the band usually only plays when there is little momentum or crowd energy so i would disagree that it takes away from the game experience in any way. Only adds to it imo

I know I will get blasted for agreeing with you, but it's just how I feel. The best moments today were when KU called timeouts and they when straight to the speakers. Sadly most of our fan base consists of "Old Fogies"

I don't know about beer barrel, but we played that every game last year too with the old director. I just know that fights comes mostly from above.

They best parts of the game were when we went on a run and ku called a timeout? No **** mr obvious.

Listen, I don't mean to insult our band members. I am sure they (you) are talented musicians and I appreciate you wanting to give something back to ISU. But I don't see the value it adds that the speakers can't do better. Case in point, when the crowd needs to get jacked, they play Sandstorm or something similar.

At the next game, count the number of times we play the fight song. Hopefully they will see this and play it a bit less.

100% agree and we should get rid of cheer leaders too, and the students section needs to go too. And the 5 claps, what the **** is up with that. Tradition is full of stupid.

I would also agree that they need to take it easy on fights. I love beer barrel but playing fights as a filler even that short little one ruins it and it just becomes white noise. IMO the short little one does absolutely nothing.
