Nice Edozie Story

Re: Edozie in USA Today

I see TexasCy beat me to it by a minute or two... feel free to merge :)

It's acceptable if he said "screw you" to the principal if he/she was a Hawkeye or Jayhawk fan.

So glad he is a cyclone. He's been thru so much and yet he's conquered life's most challenging obstacles. Really proud of him.

Great story. Some asshat on the facebook posting of the story in between all the "fantastic story" posts said something like "Fred should play him more, not start but let him go bang around"

time and place peckerwood.

I would really like him to get a start next Monday, but with a conference title on the line against a tough team, I would think we would play 100% for the win.

As someone who works with kids and greats really upset with them sometimes because the aren't reaching what I hope they this made me tear up. We often times forget what they go through and only expect results. I am really glad that Daniel is forever a part of Cyclone Nation.

Like whar Edozie threads?

I don't think most of us can begin to understand what Daniel went through. I know I cant. It took strength and determination and heart for him to make it. More strength than I have. And it took the same for his foster mother and the immigration officer that helped him.

He he will be a success in life. I'm glad that Iowa state got to be a small part of it.

I moved to LA a while ago, ended up walking down skid row once after getting out at the wrong bus stop. It is a frightening and hopeless scene for anyone but especially a kid.

It's truly amazing a kid who was out there on his own at 12 is graduating from Iowa State University. The odds are just incredibly stacked against it, yet there it is. He's a Cyclone legend in my book.
