NFL Draft

My contention is not predicated on predicting a questionable guy like Clyburn and a gimp like Bowers will be Pro Bowlers. Suh and Vanden Bosch are already there.

Looking at the future, you ave nothing to base that the Bucs will be better, other than all teams hope their draft picks are All-Pros.

Jesus Christ pal. First of all it's Clayborn. Second of all, you have clearly, once again, missed out on the part where I said years from now. VandenBosch will be done by then. He has NOTHING to do with what I have been saying. Quit bringing his name because you have a hard on for him. Once again, I was referring to their potential when I said they will be feared more. You have nothing to back up Fairley. Fairley had 1 outstanding year in college. The year before, he was non existent. I also, never said anything about them being pro bowlers.

I never proclaimed them a success. All I said was they(McCoy, Bowers, and Clayborn) will be feared more than Suh and Fairley. That is of course if they live up to their potential and that includes Fairley too. Had I remembered Price, I would have mentioned him too. Bowers has surgery on a torn meniscus that doctors have already cleared to 100%. NFL teams are scared of him re injuring that knee and him not being worth top 10 money. That is why he fell. They fear if he re injures it, he will be done in 4-5 years. You said he WILL have to have surgery on it. Only, like every person on the planet, he re injures it.

Call anyone in the NFL and ask them who they would fear more, Suh and Fairley vs McCoy, Bowers, and Clayborn, if everyone lives up to potential. They would all say the Bucs because that is 3 guys they have to scheme around then 2. I have no idea why that is so hard for you all to figure out.

Bowers already had surgery. There was microfracture concerns. It took forever for him to clear. It was rumored he was failing physicals and then he had a poor pro day. I'm not saying it will happen but I would put money on him having knee surgery within 4 years. If he's the most talented kid in the draft like he was said to be, 30-some teams aren't passing on him.

Clayborn had only one outstanding year. The bad part is it wasn't 2010, it was 2009. He was very average last year.

How come you don't mention Cliff Avril and VandenBosch? Those guys don't suck. I'll take the Lions.

Cliff Avril is a good player. Right now, for this season, I would definitely take the Lions D-line, but once again, I was referring to the future. You all are clearly missing my point and I am done with this argument. Let's get back to the draft.

You should let the guys on the NFL Network know.

Assuming that guys with Clayborn and Bower's liabilities reach their potential is the issue. Suh and Fairley are better now, and more likely to reach their (higher) potential. Vanden Bosch is likely to give at least 3 more years at an NFL starting level, which could be more than potential (your favorite word) Bowers career.

I will agree that if the improbable happens, and the Buc's picks end up better than expected and the Lions pick worse, the Bucs will have the better DLine.
To speed up the thread, we could just repeat this for any combination of teams.

I get your point. In the future, you believe the Bucs have more upside. I just disagree with that.

I do agree with getting back to the draft. This is the point where DBs start going. Hopefully someone stretches out for Sims as well as the rest of the guys.

I agree, but he was still effective. Fairley went from being a guy that was virtually non existent to what he was last season. That is a one year wonder. If you watched Auburn games last season, he would be on the sideline for multiple series in a row because of bad conditioning. That won't cut it in the NFL. He is just as big a risk as Bowers was, but for different reasons.

Todd McShay, in his 7 round mock, had Sims going to the Jags in the 6th round.

I agree with all of that. I may have him confused, but I thought I saw Fairley had lost 20 lbs coming into the draft. Certainly a good sign if true.

Thinking of the future and potential, it seems like NFL GM's like Fairley's projection better than Clayborn's. Fairley could just be getting started after acclimating from JuCo, where as Clayborn peaked or at least was not in good enough condition this past year.

My nightmare is watching Scott Haughton go in the first round after attending some AA school. Kenrick Ellis just reminded me of that.

I was just checking out Ricky Stanzi's bio in his draft profile. Some interesting stuff in there.

Favorite TV Show: Sliders
Favorite Song: Free Fallin'
Favorite Movie: Falling Down

So, he's a Tom Petty fan. Good for him.

He's a fan of America too.
