New Year's Resolutions 2016

Goals for 2015:
Run the Lincoln half and improve my time by 20 minutes - Ran it but legs locked up due to heat, so I didn't get my time (was on pace for a 30 minute PR until mile 9 when they locked up)
Start training for my first full marathon - Signed up and started training for one. Having a second knee surgery derailed it, though I could probably gut it out if need be (it's Jan 10th)
Go watch the Cyclones play in Destin, Florida - Done!!
Cut out sugary drinks and eat healthier in general - Done
Handle stress better and be more positive - Done
Read more, even though I've read more this past year than I ever did in my entire life - Done
Finally learn to play guitar - Done

Edit: Wife and I are going to try to buy a house this year but that's more of a "if everything falls into place" thing - Done!! Currently renovating it and should be in it within the next 6 weeks!

2016 Goals-

Wife and I want to have a kid. I'm finally ready.
Continue and improve upon my healthy lifestyle/eating habits
I'm down ~20 pounds. I want to lose 10-15 more to get around the 10% body fat mark.
Run either another half marathon or a full marathon.

you did pretty awesome this year!

aren't you also like 27-28? How have you decided you are ready for a kid if you don't mind my asking?

I'm not sure how many of these I will obtain....

Get under 200 lbs.. Currently at 210lbs

Bike 5000 miles

Spend more time with kids

Be a better husband (pay attention better, and help out more)

I achieved 3 out of 4 last year.

Get more in shape overall

Bike 4500 miles

Lower alcohol consumption

4500 miles, wow! I would think 200lbs would be doable if you are biking that much!

2015 - goal free

2016-
Pass my CFA Test in June
Trip to Europe
Replace all flooring in house along with doors
Save more money
Lose 20 pounds
Quit chewing
Wife wants to run a marathon - I have no desire to, but I want to help her achieve the goal.
Watch the MBB win a title in Houston (not really up to me)
Watch Chi Cubs win a WS title (again, not up to me)
Get a promotion at work

29. Big 3-0 in April.

You just kind of know, as cliche as that sounds. My wife is 27, will be 28 in May. Being around our 1 year old niece probably helped too. I've never been opposed to having kids, I just wasn't ready for them. But I'm ready and excited/looking forward to it.

pay attention better, and help out more. - In other words, handing in the man card. You should have said train the wife to bring beer and a sammich without having to ask first.

where in Europe?

I did enjoy the Europe trip, replacing flooring followed by "save money" :jimlad:

that's what I hear from a lot of people. Sometimes I wonder if we'll ever "know" because it hasn't happened yet but I suppose we have time.

You can do this. If not you, then who?

Going to set my goals high again this year.

Show up to work everyday that isn't a weekend, holiday, or PTO.

Get ourselves on a budget, and start saving for things we want/need

Nope

Learn/teach myself to crochet. New niece/nephew coming in late August, and I'd like to give them a blanket.

*sigh* Nope again.

The infamous exercise/eating right. I want to commit to at least 3 days of cardio, and cutting out so much crap that I eat. (She says as she eats another Christmas cookie)

3 STRIKES, YER OUT!

Although, number 3 might be clearer this year. I'm wanting to lose weight because I'm in my sister's wedding this summer, and the husband hitting 4-0 earlier this month has made him realize he really needs to do something about his weight. Here's hoping losing weight also means less eating out...which should help the budget.

The same every year. Drop 25 pounds and get back to playing bball. Every year I drop the weight, can't find time for bball, then gain the weight back again. Start all over the following January.
