Yellow helmets with all gray looks terrible inside my head.

Impossible to tell, so the speculation is fun.
I froze it around :06, did a slight exposure adjustment, it looks like Cardinal-Gray-Gold to me. Of those, I'm least confident about helmet color ... but check the hue of the cardinal & gold of the gloves against the jersey and the pants.

Pause it at .02 seconds. I know its black and white. I could maybe see it being gold.
Speculating of course
Grey top gold pants would be a head scratching choice considering Iowas home uniforms
It's clearly Anthracite jerseys and pants. Can't tell whats going on with the helmet

Exactly my line of thought, so I hope my guess is incorrect ... it could work for other games, maybe, but this'd be a bad week to unveil that alternate.
if you look at the c/c/c video they posted for the last game the red helmet looks grey due to the lighting. it looks like the helmet matches the red stripes on the grey uniforms but then at the last shot it looks way lighter.
That is interesting, it does look kind of Gold(49ers gold?)-Grey-Gold, which could work, but maybe not vs Iowa...also if the non-adjusted video evidence (post 1394) shows grey pants, that makes gold pants of color-adjusted image less believable unless they are being extra tricky with "fake news"!
I thought maybe gold helmet too, but the shoulder stripes are cardinal-gold-cardinal, and the helmet in that grey-scale image seems to match the cardinal of the outer stripes
Wish they would do this for a different game, I feel like cardinal jerseys should be worn against Iowa.
Earlier I thought since the helmet matched the outer stripe, the helmet was cardinal like the outer stripe. But the yellow of "STATE" seems different too - so I am hereby time-stamping my revised guess as:
- a light grey helmet - dark grey jersey - dark grey pants
The helmet almost looks like a variant of rose gold which is a popular color for cell phones these days.
This really makes me think it is...
-- gray pants/jersey (again, like SJSU last year)
-- cardinal helmet (mostly matches the red numbers and stripes)
-- probably cardinal facemask (from earlier in the video) given how the helmet and facemask seem to match each other (and how much they promote the all-cardinal look)
It is virtually impossible to make colors on different fabrics and the plastic of helmets match exactly, if you look closely enough, but of the three choices, the helmet looks red.
The gold stripes are way brighter even under that light.
The gray background is way darker.
Cardinal is the best fit, unless they are doing something crazy with a gold that is way darker than what we have seemed to have accepted as our yellow-gold.
I really hope we don't have black / grey against Iowa. If we lose we will never hear the end of "you want to look like Iowa" folks.
