New Retired Number???

So I posted this in the game thread last night, but figured I'd make a new post on it.

Last night at the game I noticed they moved where the retired numbers hang and that there was a folded up banner next to them. It seems pretty clear that its a new banner for retired numbers as it doesn't make sense for the 2017 NCAA banner to be positioned in this spot. I've included a photo I took last night that I couldn't upload via mobile.

Anyone heard anything or have speculation?

I thought the same thing too last night, however after looking at it closer instead of individual banners they are now knew banners and the bottom under Barry Stevens is blank and folded up which by your photo confirms my assumption from the otherside of the arena. Down the road when the retire a jersey they can update the banner and add the new name and number.

Ah this makes perfect sense, I couldn't see the other side.

Looks to me like the blank spot is for a new conference champions banner.

Makes sense that they move it. I don't think they could have fit anything banner where it used to be. Maybe making room for Fizer?

Definitely does seem like they are setting it up for a future addition. Maybe not this year though. At some point in the next 5-10 years both Niang and Morris will be up there, so this gives them the space now.
