New music tradition?

I know I’m in the vast minority and I’ll get ‘dumbed’ like crazy on this post, but I’m gonna say it.

I think the juicy wiggle is lame as hell and I kinda hate that it’s become our thing.

Had to get that off my chest, I know no one agrees but let me hear the hate

Edit: I love that it’s something that gets our crowd going and I don’t want them to stop but it’s just so cringey to me. During the okie st 2011 game they played “we ready” and got everyone so amped. Swag surfin is great too
I don't hate Juicy Wiggle at all, but I do feel like it's starting to get a little over done. I would like it way more if it was saved for special moments. Distance makes the heart grow fonder...ya know?

Love Swag Surfin...don't think I'll ever get sick of it. I can only imagine how sick it would be if the whole stadium got into it instead of just the student section and pockets of people here and there. If Kirk Cousins can swag surf, so can you!

It's about as cringe as it gets. Of course our corny ass fanbase embraced and celebrates that dumbass dance. It's a tradition, and kids and grandparents seem to love it, but why do we always have to do the most embarrassing ****?

I die a little more inside every time the dance ends with jazz hands "woo"....JFC
It's the same dance about every high school student section does and I feel like our fans think we're original for it

The band gets to play the fight song when the team runs out - completely ruining the vibe/mood as the team enters in from the tunnel. That ALONE should disqualify the "band director" from complaining, about anything, ever.

Oh sweet the team is coming down the tunnel! Music is loud, fans are clapping, everyone is AMPED. Granted, the new Thunderstruck decision absolutely sucks (sorry, it is not a pump-up song and the ONE thing Cyclone fans do at elite level is unison-clapping, which coincidentally cannot be done to freaking Thunderstruck) - but whatever, still pumped. Team runs out and... BOOM - stop all music, let's let the band play the fight song that no one can hear. Buzz officially killed.

They put out this huge survey last summer and they had to keep this really dorky and mood-killing thing about the football entrance huh?
Oh no the band plays the fight song when the team runs out.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................like every other band does as well LMAO.

And I don't know your age nor is that important but I'm 25 and Thunderstruck is a PERFECT addition to the team entrance.

The entrance of the team is the least of my concerns but I feel like we've finally mastered that after years of inconsistencies with music/when the cheerleaders are supposed to start running with the flags, etc.

I am not even an ISUCF'V'MB alumni, but bands are quintessential to CFB and taking them away from the game and environment just reinforces the need to make this sport NFL lite, which I hate.

The band doesn't even play their own walk out music. They have that video and music on the PA system. Granted, the video is well produced with the rain on the headgear, and the closeup of the cfVmb pin and stuff, but they are a band, they should play themselves onto the field. That's the one that makes no sense to me.
the band has done the "Cycloning onto the field" for as long as I can remember and they've always started actually playing once they're all in formation. I think the Cycloning onto the field is one of the cooler marching band entrances that is extremely unique and only Iowa State does it.

The crowd engagement is the best I've ever seen....my one gripe about the environment though is they still are pumping in music between each play....LET THE BAND PLAY.

The stuff they do during the media timeouts to keep fans engaged is awesome, but the blasting rap music in between each play is annoying to me.
I agree with let the band play as long as they update their pep music. They've been playing the exact same songs since my freshman year 10 years ago. Obviously keep the classics but rotate out some of the pop songs that aren't fresh anymore and get some new ones on the list.

Juicy Wiggle is an organic, original, authentically ISU thing and that alone makes it awesome. It’s fair to say the dance sucks though. Purdue does a very similar dance, idk who stole it from who.
This! I knew there was another school that pretty much did the same dance minus the woo part. For some reason i thought it was Cincy but I couldn't find a video of it.

I googled "purdue fan dance" and it seems from the hits it must've been a tiktok trend/dance. Both Iowa State students and Purdue adopted it.

Man, if you're mad about the band playing the ******* fight song, just quit college sports. There's a whole day for you on sunday.

When I was in high school a lot of school student sections did this dance during games. It's been a thing for a long time.

One tradition pregame that can go away, Bells of Iowa State. Save it for after the game like basketball if it’s a must, but that is an absolute pre-game mood killer.

Plus when they do the clock for the campanile, it looks like a penis.
I actually like that they placed it before the Salute to Service/National Anthem....going from the National Anthem into Go Cyclones Go is much better

Juicy wiggle every game. And if you disagree, you are not tailgating properly.

And if you don’t like mr. bright side (Iowa everywhere) I got two words for you **** ***. That **** goes hard. Emo, that’s laughable.

same guy........regardless of new sound system

"insert name" the ball carrier,

tackle by "insert name"

every play

*********************** *************************

"insert name "shaken-up" on the play.....

Going from crap to trash is an improvement.

I don't think there is anything she can do after her abomination of a performance at that first game that can earn my acceptance. That probably says a bit about me as well, but so be it.

I think you need to chill

They did this in Houston. Their hype guy was clearly more polished and had a better personality. But they did field goal kicking, ball throwing, etc.

Better than just staring at that damn digital clock midfield.
Digital Time-Out Clock Guy is the best in the BIG12....Losing another 2:30 off our lives is best ever.

I still don't really understand this viewpoint (besides the penis part). As @loyalsons4evertrue noted, it happens before the National Anthem. To the extent that it does kill the mood (which is a fan choice, IMO--a lot of schools get excited about their alma mater song), the only way it has a real effect is if it kills the mood more than the National Anthem would by itself and continues to do so all the way through the team entrance to kickoff, which I don't think it does.
