Some of the better Cyclones of even the Rhoads era were under 0.800 composite on 247 with smaller time offers (sorry if beating a dead horse, just the truth). So i wouldn't get too worked up about that.


Here are several:

Josh Lenz (2009): 0.7903
Jake Knott (2009): 0.7889
Jeremy Reeves (2009): 0.7829
Willie Scott (2009): 0.7667

Jacob Gannon (2010): 0.7778

Oni Omoile (2011): 0.7799
David Irving (2011): 0.7725

Cory Morrissey (2012): 0.7900

Willie Harvey (2014): 0.7956
Jordan Harris (2014): 0.7852


These have been some of our better players, and they were pretty lowly rated according to 247.

I was completely "WOWED" on how many recruits in the last 5-6 years never/rarely saw the field in an ISU uniform. That is completely astounding.
 
Since you are the only man I have ever talked to in the history of my life that didn't like Anchorman you obviously have problems that need immediate attention.

I have watched Happy Gilmore more times than I can count. Anchorman was meh.

So what you're saying is he's still quite young, may NOT have fully developed physically, has to go another full year in school, and our coaches thought enough of him to offer a scholarship.

But not a single one of those guys ever played a down in the league.

Watching his film and his 5.0 40 time, I'm more concerned about his athletic ability than his size. I think his frame looks big enough to get as big as guys we've had be solid DE's.

The biggest thing that jumped out at me about him was his offers, sure they aren't impressive from a football standpoint but if Cornell and Army are offering, then you know this kid has his head on straight and has he work ethic it takes to be a big 12 football player. If you are going to take a chance on a kid to physically develop it may as well be a high character kid you know will buy in to your system, thats the coaching staffs angle here IMO.
 
The coaches have obviously seen something to offer and accept a commitment this early. They know a lot more about football than I do.

I don't know. He only has a little less than 4 years to get in the program, work with the coaches, hit the weights, physically develop, etc. before he may be counted on for significant playing time. Time is not in his favor.

I think the coaches have seen him camp a couple of times and liked enough to offer.

It's weird that everyone calls him athletic but you. Also, who trusts the 40 time of any high school player?
