Murph and Andy- Craptowns

People! People! People! How many times do we have to go over this?

The obvious answer is Anamosa, Ia.

I swear 95% of the adult population of Mason City is on crack. I've worked retail in both Mason City and Waterloo. I found dealing with the drugged up idiots of Mason City was more difficult. As for Waterloo, at least the east side of that town needs to be on that mountain.

Meth. They can't afford no crack rock!

There has to be a population limit for this. For instance, if you've spent any time around Lake Rathbun and been in some of the smaller towns that surround it, you'd find them to be exeptionally craptastic.

These places are not crap towns, they are place that take time to appreciate or some are just well-kept secrets. The most unhappy and miserable people in Iowa live South of Grand, Jordan Creek, or Coralville/North Liberty.

I don't live near any of those places, but I'd rather live around a bunch of materialistic tools than a bunch of unpredictable tweakers.

Keosauqua, Iowa or as I like to call it little Arkansas. 1,000 of the dumbest, dirtiest inbred rednecks you'll find in this state. I imagine that most the states truck stop lot lizards (hookers) claim this armpit along the Des Moines River home. The people that I've met in this town are a mix of the people from the Hills Have Eyes and Deliverence. Do yourself a favor dont ever, ever step foot in this town.

Keosauqua and the towns around it have the most ambitious rural tourism and historic preservation/main street projects in the state. I was in nearby Bonaparte and I saw a tour bus with actual tourists inside. They are the model other small communities follow when trying to build small-town tourism.

If you really enjoy fast food and billboards and gas station pole signs you can see for mile around, davis and v.b. counties are not your thing.

Whats that tour consist of 90 minute bus ride and a 30 minute stroll around the square? All southern Iowa towns have nice squares. Small-town tourism...I lol'd at that.

I'll take my Jordan Creek neighborhood where people actually care what their property looks like vs. some hick village where you live next to someone with 10 junk cars in their yard. I grew up in small town Iowa, and would never go back to live there.

If things don't change (Smart Growth, idiots on city council), Ames will be on the list of crappiest towns in Iowa.

Everytime I go back to visit family the town gets dumpier (not sure if this is a word, but it applies to Ames).

Maybe Ames is suffering from a deluge of Section 8 entitlement thugs found now in CR, Iowa City, Waterloo, dubuque....courtesy of the State of Illinois

Any list like this that doesn't include all of Jasper county is lying. That entire county is awful.

I'd vote for Clinton; have you ever driven down Camanche Avenue (US 30/HWY 67), talk about smelly.
