i remember the last tornado that went thru ames it was right before a football game and i was watching it from my tailgate

Was watching the storm in my parking lot and saw a low hanging, ominous looking cloud roll through. Wasn't sure if it was a funnel or not, but I'm guessing it wasn't. Still cool though

North Ames (near The Cafe): Rain and wind came quickly and have dissipated. Still raining, but much less wind. Power flickered on streetlights momentarily, but otherwise no sign of significant damage.

It didn't seem like that much rain in Ankeny, but there is a lot of standing water in the field behind my house.
