This is an amazing coaching staff. They have been able to win a lot of games just by being able to control the pace of the game and take shots when they were available. Lazard is a great player. Lima is a great player. There are several very good players on this team, but in the end, beyond KU and maybe KSU this team has less talent than everyone else in the Big 12. They somehow were able to win 8 games with a huge amount of adversity this year. The loss of Park was a huge deal for this team, no matter what you think of him. This was going to be the year that ISU was throwing the ball all over the field and scoring lots of points. Instead they somehow put together a defense that slowed almost everyone they played to a crawl.
The thing that impresses me the most is how ready players are to go in and play when called on. Park walks and Kempt comes in and beats OU. Two DB are suspended and a third is hurt in the bowl game and ISU still holds Memphis 27 points below their season average.
