Cardinals fans are one of the most knowledgable in baseball. Hawkeye fans are delusional. There is no comparison except that they are your rivals. That is the only thing in common.

They call it if the infielder can catch it using "ordinary effort". No ball that lands in the middle of the ******* outfield can be caught by an infielder exerting "ordinary effort".
That's one of the worst calls I've ever seen.
That could be one of my top 3 worst mlb baseball calls right there. ******* horrible. The ball was 70 ft into the outfield. And you called it a split second before the ball hit the ground. When the SS is even with you ump... it's not IFR.
That is freaking terrible.
And makes an excellent point as to why the one game series is terrible when you play 162 a year. That and Atlanta is the best defensive team in the league and are having a fluke error filled night. They beat the Cards 5 out of 6 this year and are lined up to be knocked out of the playoffs with a bad call and a bad night! HORRIBLE!

Did Kozma back off because he heard the infield fly and thought it was Holliday? Umpire yelling infield fly could have contributed to the error. It was a bad cal, but Braves fans are acting disgraceful.

It's a bad call in a potentially game-changing scenario that determines whether the Braves stay home or advance (and whether Chipper's career ends tonight).
There are bad calls, and then there are bad calls that actually mean something. Agree that the throwing stuff is embarrassing, though.
That is not out of the realm of a judgement call. It was. Kozma was under it and then the ump called it. It's a judgement call at that point. Was it the correct call? You can argue either way.

The ump didn't call it until well after Kozma had moved out of position. I can't believe you're honestly trying to defend this call, man...
No, it was an extremely crazy bad call. The whole purpose of the infield fly rule is to prevent an infielder from intentionally dropping a pop fly in order to turn a double play. The shortstop was chasing that pop up the entire time it was in the air, more than a third of the way into the outfield. How was he going to turn a double play or get lead runners with how that dropped? In fact, the runners at second and third were easily safe. This was a VERY bad call, one that may cost the Braves an extended post season.
By the way, this game is officially under protest.
