No, it's being defensive when you can't even admit that it MIGHT of been a bad call. A lot of the Cardinals fans I've talked to can't even see the other side of the argument. It's your team, I know that but at least admit that the call was questionable, there's nothing wrong with that. They aren't going to take your win away.

In this situation, in which the SS ran forward and it became "apparent" that he was not going to catch it: NO. There would have been no DP turned. But the ump called it when he was calling for it and getting under it. If Koz stays there, the runners are more apt to be going back to the back anticipating a catch. If he was TRYING to turn two, there would have been very little chance, but a chance.
But the rule book does not state anything about a DP. You can dislike the rule, but it doesn't make it wrong that he called it.
I've never once said it isn't a judgement call. I defend the fact that he made the call. IF he hadn't called it, I'd be OK with that too. It's judgement - but not WRONG.
There's no doubt...they completely blew the call. Unless there are two Molinas on the bases there is no way they're doubling anyone up there. On a true infield fly, the runners aren't leaving their bases. Like I said before, if you can't call it almost immediately off the barrel of the bat, it isn't the infield fly.
What makes this unusual is that the call was made by one of the outfield foul line umpires that are added for post season.
I would not be surprised if baseball issues a memorandum over the winter to umpires that going forward only the infield umpires should call an infield fly rule.

meh, better then a TavernHawk. I was at the Cards-Dodgers games in August. Cardinals fans in general were pretty cool. Dodgers fans though were dooshers though that didn't surprise me.
