Ok let's hear your playoff predictions. Here are mine.

NLDS
Dodgers over Cardinals in 5
Phillies over Rockies in 4

ALDS
Yankees over Twins in 4
Red Sox over Angels in 4

NLCS
Dodgers over Phillies in 6

ALCS
Yankees over Red Sox in 7

World Series
Yankees over Dodgers in 5

Dodgers have a pretty good chance of losing in 3 to the Cards, and I would bet the Rockies over the Phillies. My guess is Cardinals/Yankees in the World Series.

Yanks will choke.

I think:

Cards over Dodgers
Phillies over Rockies

Yankees over Twins (pains me to say this)
Red Sox over Angels

Cardinals over Phillies
Yankees over Red Sox

Cardinals over Yankees

I know Cards have been sloppy lately, but Carpenter and Wainright are the best 1 2 punch right now.

Last year, Cybsball20 did a GREAT write-up on the matchups and made some predictions - and was pretty much on the mark. Where are you at 20?

I think the NL is wide open but you have to think the Cards are the favorites there. Can't rule out the defending champs in Philly either. For the AL, you could make a good case for every team but the Twins I think. Yanks might sweep them and then either get the big rival Red Sox or an Angels team that is always scrappy. I think regardless whoever comes out of the AL probably wins the WS.

You can make a case for the Twins. They're the hottest team in baseball. If they win tonight, they'll take the series.

No one gave the Twins a chance to make the playoffs win they were 7 back. No one is giving them a chance now. I love that position. The nothing to lose angle...

I've been too busy to watch as many games as I would like the last couple of months... I'll see if I can put a condensed version tonight.

NL:

Cardinals over Phillies in 5

AL:
Yankees over twins in 3
Angels over Red Sox in 4

Angels over Yankees in 7

World Series:
Angels over Cardinals in 6

Cards easily out of the NL (and I'm a cubs fan)
Angels can take down the Yanks

Cards over Angels....ugggg

Two months ago, I would've said the Red Sox would beat the Yankees out if they met in the postseason. A month ago I would've said the Angels would beat the Yankees out in the postseason if they met. The Yankees have steamrolled the Red Sox (8-1 over the last 9 to bring the season series to 9-9) and took a series from the Angels in Anaheim. If they can get by the Twins, I like their chances to be in the Series.

I think the NL easy pick is the Cards. I think the sleeper pick is the Rockies. They've been playing excellent baseball under Jim Tracy, and the National League just isn't very good. I think the Dodgers are screwed because they've fallen off the map recently. Phillies are solid, but I don't think they get through St. Louis.

Yankees/St. Louis in the Series and I like the Yankees in 6. Carpenter and Wainwright vs. a predominantly left handed lineup in Yankee Stadium is a good matchup for the Yankees. Additionally, Burnett, Sabathia, and Pettitte all spent time in the National League so they should be at least somewhat capable with the bat. They aren't AL pitchers who have never hit before.

Wow, I am kind of surprised at all the love the Cards are getting (and I am a Cards fan). They sleepwalked through the last 2 weeks of the season and won nary a game. I am not so sure they can flip a switch and get that competitive edge back.

Then again, the '06 team limped into the postseason but caught fire and won it all. With the pitching of Carpenter and Wainwright, plus Pujols and Holliday in your lineup, there is a great chance for some success.

The Cards were 5-2 against the Dodgers this year and have done pretty well against them the last few years. I think:

Cards over Dodgers in 4
Phillies over Rockies in 4,
Yankees sweep the Twins
Red Sox sweep the Angels

Phillies over Cards in 6 (Phillies--specifically Ryan Howard--own the Cards)
Yankees over Red Sox in 7

Yankees over Phillies in 6

Yeah, I'm sure you being a Dodgers' fan has absolutely nothing to do with this prediction... :jimlad:

ALDS
Yankees over Twins in 4
Angels over Red Sox in 5

NLDS
Cardinals over Dodgers in 3
Rockies over Phillies in 5

ALCS
Angels over Yankees in 7

I think the Angels are going to go out and win this thing for Adenhart.

Nope, not at all!:jimlad:

Actually, I predicted a Yankees/Dodgers World Series back in February so I decided to stay with it. I do find it interesting that almost everyone is picking the Cards to beat the Dodgers, and most people have it only going 3 or 4 games. It reminds me a lot of the talk leading up to LA's NLDS matchup with the Cubs last year...hopefully it's the same result!

The difference between last year and this year is that the Cardinals actually have Major League talent. :jimlad:

Thanks man - look forward to it. IIRC, last year you predicted the Dodgers over the Cubs and the Phillies to win it all. So do me a favor, predict the Dodgers to be World Series champs!

My prediction: for the 3rd straight year the cubs will not win a post season game.
