Milan Momcilovic withdraws from the 2026 NBA Draft

I think the rational piece of this is that it means there’s a chance he plays against us in another uniform.

If he’s in Ames in a wildcats jersey people will boo him, and yeah that’s their right as fans. But if he’s goes outside the XII there’s a chance both sides “go their separate ways” and whatever respect was there maybe stays intact? Idk. This whole thing stinks.
If we spent 3/4 of our total bball funding on him to return Otz should've been fired. It was best to cut him loose.

He should be treated the same as Audi & Rocco. It doesn't matter to me the path he took to get to a different college. The bottom line is he had eligibility left to play at ISU and is going to another school to play basketball. It's a distinction without a difference.

I think if it were in the Big 12 that had 10 teams I'd feel more like this but with increased conference sizes the 'hate' gets pretty watered down.

'How dare he play 4 states away at a great basketball school!' just doesn't land for me.

The hard part for most(all) of us is that we are blinded by the $s being thrown around.

When you look past that, think about Milan and how challenging going thru the process and this decision was because it means he’s not ready to accomplish his goal of being an NBA player. Sure the NIL deal will be a nice consolation prize but he really wants to play in the NBA.

I will remember him as a Cyclone.

The vast majority of people won't.

As long as there have been transfers, people have remembered players by where they finished their college careers. No one thinks of any of our transfers-in that finished here as anything but Cyclones, even if they started at Michigan State or Marquette or wherever. If Milan goes to Kentucky or St Johns or wherever, that's what people will remember him as.

Anyone on here that says they wouldn't take a sure thing $7MM bag is lying to themselves. Of course he should w/d from the draft with that money awaiting him, it's life-changing dough, and there's no guarantee he'll stick in the NBA. Take the money and have fun--just don't play against the Cyclones.
