Milan Momcilovic tweets "entering NBA draft and portal"

Comments like that make you look ignorant. Tell me you don’t know about basketball without telling me you don’t know about basketball.
I disagree. The playoffs are different, but most regular season games are hard to watch. 'Ole' defense is pretty accurate.

He's not totally wrong. I watched the 4th quarter of the Knicks/Cavs last night. Eastern Conf Finals. The defense was a joke.
The refs (probably doing what the owners want) don't let the players play defense. When every little bump or reach is called a foul the players quickly realize that good hard nosed defense in the NBA just causes you to be in foul trouble. That's why I don't watch NBA.

That's not what happened last night. The Cavs had some guy named Strus that flat-out molested Brunson every single trip up the floor. Then had the nerve to cry and scream at the refs because Brunson had an arm up to protect the ball.

Point being, refs swallowed their whistle all night.

Also, I donate to charities that I like even though I know it has no effect on my tax return. I'm a cat lady, I donate to TNR shelters.

Yeah, SGA aside that isn’t at all how the playoffs are officiated or played. While games are still in reach the amount of grabbing and pushing that isn’t called and defensive intensity is off the charts.

Milan is going to be making enough now he can donate to charities and write it off (is that how it works?)

It's weird how there was a time in my life when I'd be obsessing over where Milan is going to end up. However, since I know he's not coming back to ISU, I don't give a rip where he goes.

I'm no longer a fan of his. Not butt hurt, just no longer a fan. Too many other things in my life to obsess over.

I agree, I am interested in where he goes and what he decides, but since ISU is now out of the question, I really do not worry about it. Go to the NBA, find another school, do what you want. Not losing any sleep over it, either way.

If I am Milan, I am not sure I want to go someplace like Kentucky where there a bunch of "me me me" players and a okay but not good or great coach - and then try to build on the year he just had at ISU.

If he comes back and it isn't ISU it better be someplace like St Johns, UCONN (gag) or Duke where the coach actually knows how to build a team and develop talent.

Even then, the likelihood of him putting up a year that raises his stock over what he did this year is pretty low - and that is not a knock on Milan - he was just setup perfectly this year with the type of talent and system he had to play in.

Money is money, I would take the most I was offered and go from there. He game is what it is, there is not going to be some magical jump after next season. The scouts are telling him that he is a fringe prospect to make the league, possible but not high to have a long NBA career. It's up to him, I would return to college, make a bunch of dough and then work on what they are telling him what he need to work on. If that means scoring less to be a better passer, or taking it to the hoop more than what is what he needs to do. Because now they are telling him that his scoring alone is not going to be enough to make the league.

The point is most of those guys can play defense when required, such as the playoffs or when bonus money is on the line. The ones that are below average defenders (i.e. James Harden) is an elite offensive player/playmaker. Milan at best is a below average NBA defender but doesn’t have the playmaking to offset it. We all saw what happened when NBA type athletes guarded him over his career at Iowa State. Most of the time, he struggled. I hope he does well, but he will have to be in the perfect situation to be successful.
