These awards are such a joke. Half of it has absolutely nothing to do with a players actual talent, clearly.
Remember, most of the sports writers who vote on stuff never played football, or probably quit before HS if they did. Looks like they generally vote for their favorite teams players.

Found this picture on Twitter that listed the stats of the finalist with Rose included at the bottom..I think they are still running with the “Big 12 doesn’t play defense” sentiment since there isn’t a single Big 12 LB on the list

This should be mailed to every voter. If the voting procedures or voters themselves are that blatantly bias, there’s no reason to even have the award.

These stats don't include how he has basically won us a couple games with the timing of his interceptions.

With so many Covid cancellations, I’d be interested seeing that on a per game basis. Not that I don’t think he deserves it, because he does, but I feel like ISU is one of the few teams that has actually played every game this year.

I agree Rose is getting totally hosed, but this year more than any other if you are going to compare stats it needs to be per game, not season totals.

Colorado has played 3 games and Utah has played 2. They each have a player on this list.
I don't care what the per game stats are, there's no way you can determine a player is one of the best in the country when they've only played 2 or 3 games, when other players have played double or triple that.

I don’t think k anyone is arguing that Rose shouldn’t be on there. But that doesn’t change with so many uneven games this year that you should look at a per game basis.
