What are the rules for Medical Redshirt? Are there any, or is it a judgment call? I don't understand how Naz could get one after playing 8 games if Bundrage could not after playing 30 seconds. Anyone have any knowledge on the subject?

Season ending injury in the first semester where playing in less than 30% of games. Naz will get it without issue.

Bundrage used his redshirt as a freshman and was here five years and would have been asking for a sixth year which just wasn't going to happen. Naz has not used a redshirt yet.

Right. Naz is just asking for the right to use his 5th year to play 4 based on clear rules. This should be a no-brainer.

Can play in 30% of the games rounded up to the next highest number. Amounts to 10 games in basketball and 4 in football. All have to be in the first half of the season. Not sure that the semester has any bearing.
