Seems like it would be hypocritical of Campbell to be upset Ayeni left for ISU and then does the same thing.
I would be disappointed if Campbell let a grudge or ego stop him from making the best possible selection for his staff.
If he doesn't retain Ayeni, I sure hope it's because he feels someone else is a better option, but it seems hard to believe keeping Ayeni wouldn't be the right thing.
Player coaches? Love to add Haywood, Knott & Hobbs to the D coming back next year.
Per rivals. Stan Eggen recruited Demond Tucker, Maurice Linguist recruited Jay Jones, and Tommy Mangino recruited Jaypee Philbert. So it appears to have been a change in strategy by Rhoads to target more JUCO's; something he probably should have done earlier
Getting CMC on board quickly can pay huge dividends if he has a decent budget for assistants. Today is the day that the assistant coach carousel starts to turn for 2016. Lots of staff out there with P5 experience will be moving around. One of the first ways we will be able tell what Campbell's coaching and recruiting strategy is will be by taking a close look at which assistants he looks to hire at ISU.
He could not wait for high schoolers to develop since he was in a bad situation for wins.
Likely bringing Candle and Manning with him from Toledos staff. Keeping Ayeni. I think Eggen would be good to keep around too, maybe even Shane.
