To immediately argue against my last post, if one assumes the AD will be making a change next year anyway, the only true cost of making that change is the 1-year difference in buyout.
I will say to this day that Rhoads' career was ended b/c he had extremely poor assistants who were not great recruiters (Bill Bleil, Ken Pope, and others come to mind).
It remains to be seen but I'm afraid the kiss of death for Campbell here could be his stubborness on offense. Specifically I think that is - attempting to play 'bully ball' style offense of run and ball control. Primary problem there is that we don't have ANY bullies on the o line.
He somewhat has to adapt and let Nate get creative, otherwise why the hell hire him internally. Nate Scheelhaase ran a great offense as a QB at Illinois so i'd be curious what he would do if he had free reign. He obviously doesn't right now.
If we wind up with 3-4 wins Matt has to hit the transfer portal HARD/juco's. It'll be desperation time.
